Metal Fabrication & Laser Welding

Precision fabrication backed by optical fiber laser welding — narrow, deep welds with minimal distortion and a clean cosmetic finish. Cut and welded under one roof.

Cut and Welded
Under One Roof

Most fabrication problems start at the joint. Parts that were cut approximately have to be forced together, welded heavily to close the gap, then ground back to look acceptable — and the heat that went in pulls the assembly out of square.

FABPRO works the other way round. Sections are laser cut and notched so the joint seats correctly before any heat is applied, then fiber laser welded with the energy concentrated exactly at the joint line. Less filler, less distortion, far less finishing — and an assembly that measures what the drawing said.

Cutting and welding happen in the same facility, so there is no handover between suppliers, no waiting between stages, and one point of accountability from drawing to delivery.

What We Fabricate

From a single prototype bracket to repeat production of complete welded assemblies.

Cut-to-Assembly Fabrication

Because we cut and weld under the same roof, your components never sit in a queue between suppliers. Sections are laser cut, fitted, welded and inspected as one continuous job — with one point of accountability if anything needs adjusting.

Frames & Structures

Tubular frames, sub-assemblies, brackets and support structures fabricated from laser-cut section. Joints are notched to fit before welding, so frames come out square without heavy clamping or corrective heat.

Architectural Metalwork

Gates, screens, balustrades, canopies and decorative panels where the finish is part of the product. Laser-cut detail and clean welded joints mean less filling and grinding before coating.

Precision Assemblies

Thin-wall, close-tolerance and cosmetically critical assemblies that traditional welding would distort. Laser welding puts the heat exactly where it is needed and nowhere else.

Prototype & Low Volume

No tooling, no minimum order. We build single prototype units and short runs at the same accuracy as production work — and keep the program on file for when you scale up.

Repeat Production Runs

Programmed cutting paths and repeatable weld parameters mean batch three matches batch one. Re-order months later and the parts still interchange with the originals.

Optical Fiber Laser Welding

A high-powered laser beam is delivered through a flexible fiber optic cable to a focused weld head. The concentrated energy melts and fuses metal precisely at the joint with minimal heat spread into the surrounding material — preserving dimensional accuracy and surface quality in even the most demanding assemblies.

In practice that means a stronger joint with a smaller bead, an assembly that stays square, and a finish that often needs no dressing at all before coating.

Why Laser Welding

Narrow, Deep Welds
A high depth-to-width ratio means more fusion and more joint strength, with far less visible weld bead.
Minimal Heat Spread
Energy is concentrated at the weld point, leaving surrounding material unaffected and dimensionally stable.
Low Distortion
A smaller heat-affected zone dramatically reduces warping — essential on precision and thin-wall assemblies.
Clean Cosmetic Finish
Welds are often acceptable straight off the machine, cutting grinding, filling and finishing time.
Dissimilar Metal Capability
Fiber laser welding can fuse metal combinations that traditional welding processes cannot join reliably.
Fast, Repeatable Parameters
Weld settings are set and repeatable, so joint quality does not vary between operators or between batches.

Ask us directly
What metal fabrication services does FABPRO offer?
We are a laser-led fabrication shop. That means precision fiber laser cutting of tube, pipe and structural profile, tube notching and profiling, and fiber laser welding of the resulting assemblies — frames, brackets, architectural metalwork, enclosures and precision sub-assemblies. Cutting and welding happen under one roof, so a job moves straight from one to the other.
What is laser welding and how is it different from MIG or TIG?
Laser welding delivers a high-powered beam through a fiber optic cable to a focused weld head. The energy is concentrated at the joint rather than spread across the surrounding material, which produces a narrow, deep weld with a very small heat-affected zone. Compared with MIG or TIG you get far less distortion, a much cleaner cosmetic bead, and typically far less grinding and filling afterwards.
Which metals can you laser weld?
Stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium, titanium, copper and Inconel — plus dissimilar metal pairings that conventional welding struggles to join reliably. If you have an unusual combination, send us the detail and we will confirm before quoting.
Will laser welding distort my thin-wall parts?
Far less than conventional welding will. The small heat-affected zone is exactly why laser welding is used for thin-wall and close-tolerance work — parts stay dimensionally true instead of pulling as they cool. It is usually the right answer when distortion has been a problem on previous jobs.
Can you fabricate a complete assembly, not just cut parts?
Yes. We can take a project from drawing through laser cutting, fit-up, welding and dimensional inspection to a finished assembly ready for coating or installation. Tell us where you want us to stop and we will quote to that point.
Do you handle finishing, painting or galvanising?
Our in-house capability is cutting, welding and fabrication. Where a job needs coating, plating or galvanising we can advise on the right process and sequence for the material — raise it when you send your drawings so we can allow for it in the fabrication detail.
